Newcastle Open MRI Scanner
The Newcastle Clinic has an Open Sided MRI Scanner for
use by referred patient.
Open MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
is a non invasive process of obtaining diagnostic images
of the body. These images are subsequently printed in
similar fashion to X-rays and are then used by specialists
to identify problems and conditions of the body, internal
tissues and organs.

a Stress Free Open MRI Environment
Most MRI scanners are enclosed which
means the patient must lay in a small tight tube. However
the Open Sided MRI Scanner we offer at
the Newcastle Clinic is a completely open scanner providing
a much more comfortable and relaxing environment in which
to be scanned. It is not enclosed in any way and is particularly
ideal for patients who are of large build, who may be
claustrophobic, obese , frail or anxious.

Frail and Anxious Patients
To help keep the patient calm and to promote a stress
free experience most patients are able to read, listen
to music and have a companion sat with them whilst they
are being scanned.

We welcome enquiries from private patients wishing to
make use of our MRI Scanning facility, however every patient
will need a referral from a clinician. As a patient you
can request that your MRI scan can be carried out at the
Newcastle Clinic.
